Business Events Leaders' Summit

On March 21st Scotland played host to the first-ever Business Events Leaders’ Summit held in the UK.

More than 120 delegates from across the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions (MICE) industry gathered
at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) Glasgow, for a high-level, strategic discussion on how to develop the sector.

The latest research and best practice was showcased from leading destinations around the world including
Australia, Singapore, Ireland and The Netherlands.

MICE professionals heard how destinations are increasingly focused on proving their long-term economic and
social value which go ‘beyond’ traditional tourist metrics. Destinations are also capitalising more and more on local
economic strengths to ensure MICE business can leverage those assets.

A full report on the outcomes of the event will be available in June to key policy stakeholders across Scotland and the UK.
